Why there is no good deal on Black Friday
Wait? There are no Black Friday deals at Clémentine Boutique?
I have just launched my online store and my email box is full of strategies for entrepreneurs related to Black Friday. Everybody likes a good deal. Is there a small business entrepreneur who doesn't want to be successful? Let me tell you why I will pass on this one.
The value of things
When I lived in Japan, there were very few products on sale, and overall Japanese clients accept the price of things because they know it benefits the whole society. Do we want to use products made by people who see their healthcare and benefits discounted? Can we discount our resources?
I am building this new online store and the trust that goes with it. I prefer to offer affordable prices that my clients can rely on all year long. Actually I monitor very closely the prices to stay aligned with big companies like Walmart or Amazon.
Buy what you need. I decided to focus on functional things to limit the clutter in our lives and not to compromise on quality. If a product goes on sale it means it is overpriced or obsolete.

'Black Friday' is the name that the Philadelphia Police Department gave to the Friday following Thanksgiving Day. Is it really appropriate to designate an event with a negative connotation as "black"? Should we use another adjective?
