I loved the look and feel of this nutcracker. However, disappointingly, the wood base of the nutcracker cracked and splintered within the first two hours of use ( cracking hard-shelled hazelnuts ); and first attempt at re-gluing it failed. If it was meant for use only with soft-shelled nuts ( ? Peanuts, perhaps) , it would have been helpful to have this explained before purchase.
